CLIENT: GAP
PROJECT: SOUND OF COLOR
Rehab was commissioned by Gap Inc. to produce their 2008 "Color Redefined" online viral campaign. Pulling from the neurologically based phenomenon called synesthesia, Rehab found the inspiration to give color a sound. What does blue, red, green, yellow, black & white sound like?
With this question in mind, Rehab approached five emerging artists to compose original tracks inspired by a chosen color:
The Raveonettes/ Black & White
Dntel/ Red
Swizz Beatz/ Green
The Blakes/ Blue
Marie Digby/ Yellow
Five directors were then commissioned to create music videos that were inspired by both the track and the color.
Equal to the inspiration these sounds of color have on the listener, are the creative processes that went into make them. Rehab dove into the creative process from the ground up by filming interviews, behind the scenes footage, mini documentaries for each of the artists/colors as well as a making of video.
